In 2018, Côte d’Ivoire achieved its best ranking in the IFC’s “Doing Business 2019.” It has also been among the world’s top reformers in recent years. Elements that make it easier than ever to start a new business in Côte d’Ivoire include:

• Reduced minimum capital requirements,
• Lower business registration fees, and
• A one-stop shop, CEPICI, for business registration and publication of notices of incorporation.

These achievements are among the many reforms underway to bolster Côte d’Ivoire’s business environment. In 2013, a new business-friendly investment code was rolled out. Additionally, in 2014, a new, mining code was developed and implemented in consultation with industry.

Moreover, the launch of dedicated commercial courts, improved regulations on competition, and property law reform are ensuring that investors’ interests are respected.

The strides made by government to improve Côte d’Ivoire’s business environment have resulted in a Ba3 stable rating from Moody’s and a B positive rating from Fitch.
