South Africa’s Megatron Federal Signs Contract with SICOGI to Build 3,500 Homes in Abidjan
On April 23, 2015, South Africa’s Megatron Federal signed a contract with the Ivorian Construction and Facilities Management Company (Société Ivoirienne de Construction et de Gestion Immobilière) for the construction of an integrated community comprising 3,500 homes, sports facilities, an outdoor fitness facility, an exclusive gated community, a fitness club, a school, and a shopping plaza. This visionary project will bring South African living standards to Ivorians at all levels of the property market.
This community comprises two neighborhoods, Les Dunes de Bassam, and L’Oasis de Bassam, and will comprise a total investment of €254 million. The Economic and Trade Office in Johannesburg has worked closely with SICOGI and Megatron Federal to ensure the project’s success and its relevance to the Ivorian market. Patrice Mallet, the Economic and Trade Representative says,
“We’re excited to be working with Megatron Federal to bring a truly world class residential lifestyle community to greater Abidjan.”
The project will be built in phases over a five year period and will comprise entry level, mid-level, and luxury homes. The community’s innovative design includes ample space for recreation, including tennis and basketball courts. In addition, the community is landscaped with flowing water to naturally cool and beautify the surroundings.
