Economic and Trade Office

Côte d’Ivoire’s Economic and Trade Office in Johannesburg, South Africa was opened in 2013 with the objective of serving the entire SADC Region.  Our objective is to motivate, support, and facilitate Ivorian transnational trade and investment between Côte d’Ivoire and SADC’s sixteen (16) member states, namely:  Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Trade Facts

Côte d’Ivoire’s imports of goods and services from South Africa totaled over R1.45 billion in 2017. By, contrast Côte d’Ivoire’s exports to South Africa in 2017 were a mere R209 million.

South Africa is one of Côte d’Ivoire’s most important African trading partners and our purchase of South African goods and services has grown from a mere R811 million in 2010 to R1.45 billion today.

In establishing its first economic office on the African continent in Johannesburg, the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire reaffirms its commitment to strengthening bilateral trade of goods and services for the benefit of both our nations. It is our sincere hope that, in increasing our economic cooperation, we can strengthen our nations’ economies and build business ties that will create jobs and lead to a more prosperous future for the citizens of our great nations.
